Along Hill Road, from the Bandra station en route
to the Basilica of Our Lady of the Mount, lies
St Peter’s Church. Tall and imposing and
of Romanesque style and structure, the church
built of yellow Rajasthani stone presents an immovable
yet serene façade, almost as if giving
proof of Christ’s words to St Peter: “Thou
art Peter and upon this rock I will build my Church.”
And yet inside the majestic structure of St Peter’s,
one experiences peace and solemnity so befitting
the House of God and a place of Divine Worship.
