The St. Peter’s Church Confraternity

The Confraternity of St. Peter’s Church was re-constituted at St. Peter’s Church Bandra in June 1923 for the original fishermen parishioners, and its members belong also to the confraternity of the Blessed Sacrament and that of St. Joseph.

It also existed before 1853 when the Parish was transferred from the old church to the new premises on Hill Road on 12th September 1853 by Bishop Dr. Hartmann (Archdiocese of Bombay).

The main objects of the Confraternity are:-
1. The realization of an exemplary and zealous Christian life in its members.
2. The fostering of a greater union and true Christian brotherhood in the community.
3. The financial support of the Parish Church in time of need and according to the means of the members.

The structure of our Confraternity body is as under:-

Today the Confraternity has 65 members who are dedicated and devoted to carry out the main objectives of the Confraternity as well as to help the needy of the community.

Maundy Thursday: Representation of the Last Supper Mr Merwyn Curzai, Prefect stands with the figure of Jesus and the 12 apostles which were carved in one piece wood in the year 1895.	Good Friday: Jesus is taken down from the Cross The Cross and ladders were built in 1895. Removing the statue of the Lord are Mathew Manki and Domnic Manki.
