The Parish of St. Peter, Bandra, animates a Centre for
Catechumenal instruction for all those who wish to be
baptized as adults. People of all faiths who feel they
have received a call from God to become disciples of
Jesus Christ and join the universal fellowship of the
Catholic Church, are welcome to join this St. Peter
Church Catechumenal Centre in order to first ascertain
for themselves this call to discipleship, and then bring
it to completion with initiation into the Catholic Church.
This Catechumenal process follows the Rite of Christian
Initiation of Adults (RCIA), with sessions every Sunday
from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., in Hindi. The teachings are given
with the use of audio-visuals, with ample opportunity
to air one's views in small groups, so that discipleship
may deepen as a journey of inner conviction.

Various
ritual celebrations recommended by the RCIA are strictly
adhered to and fully explored, in order to allow an
experience of the communitarian dimension of Christian
Initiation.
The St. Peter RCIA Centre is open to Catechumens from
all over the Archdiocese of Bombay, who need a reccomendation
of any priest in order to secure admission into the
course. The Centre is animated by Catechists proficient
in Hindi belonging to St. Peter's, and by other volunteers
who are committed to give the Catechumens an experience
of being welcomed in the Curch.
