NOTICES FOR THE WEEK
St. Peter's Church

  1. We request all parish groups and associations to work out their Group purpose & objectives and give us their year plan up to the month of April 2010. You are also requested to follow our parish  ‘Guidelines for Groups and associations’ . Copies are available at the Parish office.
  2.  To help your child, the teachers of the Jesus Club invite both parents to a short interaction on Sunday 21st June soon after the 8 a.m. Mass in the Therapy Hall at the side of the school Gym.  Your attendance at this meeting would be greatly appreciated.
  3.  On Sunday, 5th of July we celebrate our Parish Feast, the feast of St. Peter. The feast mass will be at 10 a.m.
    Our  Youth are organizing games for the youth from 5.30 pm to 7.30 pm on  our  St. Sebastian School grounds across the road and thereafter a dance from 8 pm to 10 pm for which the young and the old are invited. Entry coupons are available at the church Porch at Rs. 75/- after the 10.00 am and 6.00 pm mass on Sunday and on weekdays after 7.15 pm mass.
  4. We will have our 30 minutes ‘Searching the Scripture’ Session by Fr. Gerard this Tuesday in Church, soon after the Evening mass.
  5. You are invited to our Senior Citizens ‘Fun and Fellowship Housie’ this Thursday at 5:30 p.m. in Our Lady’s room.
  6. Our Parish Adult Catechesis Sessions begin this Thursday. These session will be held every Thursday at 8 p.m. in the Holy Cross Room. The topic will be “Making Alive - Daily Christian Life” Please look up the notice board for details.
  7. While community Fund envelopes are distributed every three months at your homes, you will always find empty envelopes placed on the community Fund boxes at the rear end of the church.
  8. The Focolare Movement will raising funds for an International Event that they will be organising - the Super  congress 2009, to be held in August. They will be holding a sale of food items, gift articles and other things after the morning masses. Kindly patronise.
  9. We would like to remind you not to leave any of your belongings in the church or chapel at anytime, not  even for a brief moment.

After the Saturday Eucharist, you are all invited to “SPLASH” our parish summer fun fiesta. There are crazy games, dances, a food court and time for Rain Dancing too. You are reminded that there will be no 7:45 p.m. Mass today.


  1. We thank Fr. Anil Pereira who has been with us for the last 6 months after his ordination. He now takes on a new assignment as the Vocation promoter of the Bombay Jesuits and will reside at Vinayalaya, Andheri.
  2. We welcome Fr. John Lobo, who has been  appointed as an Assistant at the St. Peters Church. He will also be the new treasurer at our St. Stanislaus institution. We wish Fr. Anil and Fr. John the very best as they take on their new assignments. 
  3. On Friday, 19th June is the feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. We plan to make this feast - which is centred on Jesus - a time to rededicate our commitment to Jesus in the Sacred Heart. From Sunday 14th June we will have a 5 day preparation for this feast. We do hope each of you, young and old will partake in the feast and its preparation.  More details will be given next week.
  4. From Monday, 1st June the timings of our Parish morning week day masses will be at the usual timings of 6, 6:45, 7:30 and 8:30 a.m.
  5. All youth are invited to the ‘SPY’ 2 day Youth Camp to Lonavala from Friday 5th June. The last date for registration  is the 2nd June.
  6. Forms for the First Holy Communion at our church are now available at our Reception counter.
  7. Our Catholic Sabha unit will have its thanksgiving Mass next Sunday at 10 a.m. followed by the Annual General Body meeting at the Holy Cross room.
  8. At the St. Andrews college 50% seats are reserved for catholic students. Catholic students are advised to apply in the minority and online open quota. For details please see the parish notice board.
  9. Please look up the notice board for the St. Margaret’s Training College, and the St. Teresa’s Institute of Education teachers training courses.

  1. Finally “SPLASH” our parish summer fun fiesta is here. Do come this Friday and Saturday  at 6:30 p.m. on the St Peter’s square. There are crazy games, dances, a food court and time for Rain Dancing too. 
    Since we would like as many of you to attend our Fellowship programme ‘Splash’, we will not be having the Sat. 30th May 7:45 p.m. Mass. Please attend any of our other ‘8’ weekend masses. 
  2. The Senior citizens will have their monthly Housie programme this Thursday at 5:30 p.m. in Our Lady’s Room.
  3. Next Sunday, is Pentecost Sunday. In preparation we will have a Triduum starting this Wednesday at the 7:15 p.m. mass.
  4. All youth are invited to the ‘SPY’ 2 day Youth Camp to Lonavala from Friday 5th June. The last date for registration  is the 2nd June.
  5. Those wanting admission at our St. Stanislaus Stepping Stone, NIOS school may pick up a registration form from the parish  reception counter.
  6. From this June, if you wish to meet a patient at the Holy Family Hospital you will have to make arrangements for a ‘Visit Pass’ which is available with the patient or family members only. For details please look up the notice board.

  1. Students of the ‘Ministry of the Word’  will be making a short presentation on the vision of the ‘Ministry of the Word’  next Sunday, at  our church parlour. Please look up the notice board for details about the ‘Ministry of the Word’  programme. We would like inform you that our  parish would like to encourage any parishioner who would like to do this Scripture programme and would  be very  happy to sponsor interested persons for the same.

  1. You are invited to “SPLASH”  our  parish summer  fun  fiesta   on Fri 29th  and sat 30th May from 6 pm onwards On  St.  Peter's  square.   Our theme for this year is : Mind your Language.
    All groups interested in participating are requested to pick up a form from the reception counter latest by 15ths May.
  2. Lectors are requested to check for New appointments on the Lectors board in the Sacristy.
  3. Cardinal Ozzie Gracias has declared this year as ‘A Year of Peace and Harmony’. He requests us to take initiatives to promote peace and harmony in our community, in the Church and in civil Society.
  4. If you are looking out for a suitable Life partner, Please look up the notice board for the groups “Rendez Vous
  5. The Y.S.S. will be organising a ‘Summer Club’ from the 1st to 31st May. Those who would like to volunteer or make a donation in cash or kind may contact their office.
  6. We will not be having the  “Searching the Scripture” in May. Our next session will be in June.
  7. We had made a collection for Orissa some months back but a need was to felt to make another collection for the same cause. We thank the Charismatic group for raising Rs. 1,00,639 through the Easter snacks counter and other means.
