NOTICES FOR THE WEEK
St. Peter's Church
22nd February 2009
  1. Our Parish Pilgrimage to the Mount will be held this  Monday, 23rd Feb. We gather on the School middle ground at 7:30 a.m. and leave at  7:45 a.m. for Mass at 8:30.  
  2. This Sunday is Bible Sunday. Bibles are being sold at our Stall at a discount rate.
    We have also made available beautiful Bible story books for children at a discount rate.
  3. We will have our 30 minutes ‘Searching the Scripture’ Session by Fr. Gerard this Tuesday in Church, soon after the Evening mass. The Theme is ‘The Sermon on the Mount’
  4. This Wednesday, 25th Feb is Ash Wednesday, The morning masses will be as of weekdays. The evening masses will be at  5:15 p.m., 6:15 p.m. &  7:15 p.m.
  5. On Thursday we will have the Stations of the Cross in Konkani at 6:30 p.m.            
  6. Our Evening programme for  the Fridays in Lent is as follows:
    •    Mass at 7:00 p.m.;
    •    The Stations of the cross at 7:30. and
    •    From 8:00 – 8:15 p.m we will have a prayerful reflection by a visiting preacher.
    Please collect a copy of the Parish Lenten Programme from the boxes placed outside the church.
  7. All youth are invited to ‘THE JESUS ENCOUNTER’ -  Four special Lenten sessions every Wednesday from the 4th March at 7:45 p.m. in ‘Our Lady’s room’.
  8. Do look up our parish web site stpetersbandra.com for photographs of ‘Shukriya’ & the 12  Interfaith prayer services held at our SCC zones.
  9. All coordinators of associations and zones are requested to collect from the Church office - on Ash Wednesday, their sets of gifts for those who attended ‘Shukriya’.
  10. Zonal bulletin distributors are requested to pick up This Tuesday, their sets of ‘The Family Lenten Calendar’ for distribution among their families.
  11. The Church of Francis Xavier Church, Panvel thanks you for your contribution of Rs. 4,33,211 towards their Church building fund.
  12. Thank you for our Last Weekend collection of  Rs. 42,275.

    1. Advocates will render Free Assistance this Tuesday, from 7.30 pm in the Church parlour.
    2. We will have our 30 minutes "Searching the Scriptures" this Tuesday, soon after the evening Mass. The theme "The Beatitudes".
    3. This Wednesday being the feast of Our Lady of Lourdes and World Day of the Sick, a special Rosary will be said at the Church Grotto at 6.30 pm. All are invited.
    4. You are invited to our Parish weekly Scripture session by Fr Benji on Thursday at 7.45 pm in the Holy Cross Room.
    5. Our Senior Citizens Association has done a block booking for the movie 'Slum Dog' , 14th Feb. morning at Rs 40 a ticket. Tickets for the same will be sold at our Church reception counter from Tuesday evening onwards for Seniors and anyone else interested.

    6. St Teresa's Institute of Education is holding an Alumni Meet for all B.Ed ex-students
      on Friday, 20th February at 2.30 pm.
    7. The Urban Community Development Centre has renovated its eye clinic and
      physiotherapy department - services are available at a reasonable cost.

1st February 2009
    1. Our children will be receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation on Sunday 8th, Feb. at the 10.00 a.m. Mass. Please keep them in your prayers.
    2. On Sunday, 8th Feb we will be celebrating 'Shukriya' for all our Parish groups and Associations. Kindly pick up the registration form from the parish office if not done so.
    3. 15th Feb. we celebrate WORLD MARRIAGE DAY (WMD) in our parish. There will be a special Mass at 10.00 am followed by a get-together in Our Lady's Room. We have a special guest speaker Mr Conrad Saldanha who will share his views on "family life and family values" at 11.00 am Parents are most welcome.
    4. Our Altar Servers meeting will be on Saturday the 7th February at 4.00 pm in Our Lady's Room.

    5. St Joseph's Primary is presenting a Dance Drama directed by Fr Charles Vas on 2nd and 3rd Feb.
    6. Hope & Life Movement's members are invited to a full Day Picnic to Panvel organized by Josie Mascarenhas on 14th Feb.
    7. Epilepsy Camp organized at Holy Family Hospital on Sunday 15th Feb from 9 am to 1 pm.
    8. Goan Review Art Foundation is organizing a 'Viva Carnival 09' on 14th Feb at
      St Sebastian's Goan High School grounds in Dabul.
    9. Don Bosco's presents "Happy Feet" a musical on 7th Feb at 6.30 to 9.00 pm.
      They are also releasing a Pray Sing book with Word and Music for liturgical and para liturgical services.
    10. Envelopes for St Francis Church, Panvel may be deposited in the Community
      Welfare boxes.
    11. Last Sunday's collected amounted to Rs 48,806/-. Thank you for your generosity.
    12. Our Sunday Feature film after the 6.00 pm Mass is "One flew over the Cuckoo's Nest".

      First Anniversary Mass:
      Wednesday, 4th Feb. at 7.15 pm for the soul of Sebastian D'Cunha
