NOTICES FOR THE WEEK
St. Peter's Church

- An Inter-denominational Prayer meeting to prayer for our Elections will be held at our Mini Hall on 26th April at 6 p.m.
- The Senior Citizens will be having their Annual Mass
and get-together this Thursday at 5:30 p.m. Enrolled Members kindly
obtain your cards from your Area Representatives or the Church
reception counter on Monday and Tuesday at 6 p.m.
- We will have our “Searching the Scripture” session this Tuesday.
- In the month of May, masses at our church on weekdays will
be at 6:30 a.m., 7:30 a.m. & 8:30 a.m. St. Andrews Church has
masses at 6:00, 7:00 and 8:00 a.m. The evening mass at our church will
be at 7:15 p.m. as unusual. Mass intentions offered for the
6:00 a.m. and 6:45 a.m. mass in May will be offered at the 6:30
a.m. Mass.
- For admission to the Holy Family School, Chakala N.I.O.S., please look up the notice board.
- We would like to inform you that an Election list has been kept in our parlour for you to check your name and which polling booth you are enlisted in.
- Do look up stpetersbandra.com for photographs of Disha 2009; Zonal masses, the Gethsemane programme and the youth camp beneath the stars.
- We are very happy to announce and pray for any school-going girl or boy celebrating their Birthday. For this please meet our Sacristan with details before that particular mass.
- The St. Theresa’s parish invites you to their Vacation Bible Joy programme for Children and Youth from the 5th May. The topic is Adventures of St. Paul.

- Senior Citizens will have
their ‘Fun and Fellowship
Housie’ this Thursday at 5:30 p.m. in Our Lady’s Room.
- As you are aware, our
Charismatic, English Prayer group meets every Monday at 7:30 p.m. in
the Mini Hall. We now have a ‘Hindi’
Charismatic Prayer group that will meet every Thursday, at
7:30 p.m at the Mini Hall. All are invited.

- ALPHA
- a programme aimed at a renewal in the basics of the Christian faith
leading to a deeper relationship with Jesus - invites you to
a
presentation on Transformation & Evangelisation of Society, by
Nicky Gumbel, leader of the world-wide Alpha Movement. This programme
will be held this Thursday, 23rd April at 5:30 p.m. at the Birla
Auditorium, New Marine Lines
- Our Medical Centre will be
holding a Bone Density
camp on the 26th April. For details please look up the
notice board.
- The total collection for the
Holy Week services was Rs. 3,31,140.
- Our Sunday evening Movie at
the St. Peters square will be Alfred Hitchcock’s “To Catch a Thief”

SPECIAL NOTICES
- The Masses on Easter Sunday
will be as of Sunday. There will be no evening mass.
* If you do not have the Easter
Family prayer, you may pick up a copy from the Sacristy.
* Eucharistic Ministers are requested on Sunday to pick up ‘Easter Eggs’ from
the Sacristy to distribute to the House-bound.
- Next Sunday being the feast of ‘Divine Mercy’,
we will have a three day preparation from Wednesday to Friday at the
7:15 p.m. mass. The recitation of the Chaplet will be held immediately
after mass. The Divine Mercy feast mass will be at the 9:00 a.m.
mass.
- To evaluate and plan our
parish course ahead, we will have a half day session - ‘Disha 2009’
next Sunday morning. About a 100 of us will meet according to our Key
concerns, Age group focus and other priority groups. We request you to
pray for the success of this meeting.
- This year our Parish Summer
fiesta ‘Splash’
will be held on Fri. 29th and Sat. 30th May.
- We would like to inform you
that we now have placed “Prayer
Request”
forms in the Emmaus Chapel i.e. our Blessed Sacrament Chapel.
Intentions placed in the box will be prayed for at the Eucharist every
Friday at the 7:15 p.m. Mass.
- Next year the confirmations will
be held at our Church on Sunday, 14th Feb. 2010.
- Like last year, in the month
of May, masses at our
church
will be at 6:30 a.m., 7:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. We would like to remind
you that St. Andrews which is just down the road, has masses at 6:00,
7:00 and 8:00 a.m. So you have 6 masses to choose from. The evening
mass at our church will be at 7:15 p.m. as unusual. Mass intentions
offered for the 6 and 6:45 a.m. mass in May will be offered at the 6:30
a.m. Mass.
GENERAL
NOTICES
- This year we will have our
Summer ‘Vacation Bible Joy’
for children from the 20th – 25th April. Please register at the
reception counter latest by 15th April.
- Our Medical Centre will be
holding a Bone Density
camp on the 26th April. For details please look up the

- Bulletin distributors are
requested to collect your sets of Keystones
from the Parish office for distribution
- There will be no ‘Searching the Scripture’
Class this Tuesday.
- Advocates will
render Free Assistance this Tuesday from 7:30 p.m. in the Church
Parlour.

for Girls at St. Joseph Convent, Bandra; for Personality classes
& the Andheri, Home for the Aged Fete.

- On Sunday morning a
special family prayer card will be distributed to your homes along with
a loaf of Blessed Bread. The Prayer tries to bring out the spirit of
the different days of the Holy week with the hope that you may be able
to enter better into the Week. We suggest that your family come
together for this prayer before lunch.
- Families of other parishes
may pick up a prayer card and the blessed bread from the St. Peters
parlour from 7 a.m. onwards. You may also download the prayer card from
our parish website, stpetersbandra.com
- A prayer card to help you
prepare for confession, using the beatitudes as a guideline will also
be sent to your homes. Others may pick up a copy when you come for
confession.
- There will be an informal
pre-meeting at 11 a.m. on Sunday for all those who want to receive
confirmation this year.
- Today being Palm Sunday, the
Veronica Service will be held on the Front Grounds at 6:45
p.m.
- The Parish Ushers group will
meet this Monday at 7:45 p.m. at the Church parlour.
- Our Holy Week Programme is as
follows:
a. Confessions will be held from Monday to Wednesday from 5 – 8 p.m.
b. Our Maundy Thursday services are as follows:
i. 12:30 p.m. Blessing of Bread at the room used
by the Youth Centre.
ii. Service for the Sick will be at 5:30 p.m. on
the Grounds.
iii. The Lords supper will be at 7:30 p.m. on the Church
Grounds.
iv. An ‘Hour with Jesus’ at 11 p.m. in the Church.
c. For the Good Friday and Easter services please look up your Lenten
programme or the Church notice board.
- The Sisters of St. Joseph
along with our Parish youth group invite all Youth – this includes
youth who have just finished their 10th Std exams - to a Mission Camp
to Nagar Haveli on the 14th and 15th April. Please Register at the
Parish reception counter not later than this Thursday.
- This year we will be having
our ‘Summer Vacation Bible Joy’ for children from the 20th – 25th
April. Please register at the reception counter latest by 15th
April.
- Our Medical Centre will be
holding a Bone Density camp on the 26th April. For details please look
up the notice board.
- The 1st and 2nd collection of
every month always goes to the needs of the Archdiocese. Along with
that every two or three months Archbishop's house requests us to make a
second collection for various needs. At St. Peters, instead of making a
second collection, we simply divide the regular church collection for
the two needs, so today the collection will go to the Archdiocese and
also towards the expenses of the ‘Indian Mission Congress’ to be held
in October - for which we are told to make a collection.
