Boran & Bazaar Cross Zone / Queen of Peace Community


As the name suggests, the people living in this zone, live in perfect harmony with each other. They reach-out selflessly to help those in need. Our zone comprises of 187 families out of which 100 families are Christians comprising of 355 members. The Queen of Peace Zone consists of Boran Road, Bazaar Cross Lane, part of Ice Factory Lane and part of Hill Road.

History
The Queen of Peace Zone was founded in the late 1970’s with Fr. Ribes as the zonal priest and Dolly Correa as the coordinator and few other members. In the following years Fr. Cressce, Fr. Bob, Fr. Barjou & Fr. Joe till late have been the various zonal priest in our zone.

Our Pride
We have in total of 5 crosses in our Zone. Our pride is our Heritage Wooden Cross, which was built in the year 1854 by D’Almeida’s. It was built to protect the Boran Village from the plague. In 1954 late George Francis Baptista put marble stone around the base of the Cross. In the year 2004 the Cross-completed 150 years, during those days George Baptista used to organize Choir practice and every month Rosary used to be recited. The Cross-comprises of 2.7 sq. yards.

O Most Holy Virgin, Mother of God, Our most loving Mother may your powerful intercession far remove from the peoples discords and hatreds and turn all minds to brotherhood and peace which unto the common prosperity and safety. O glorious Queen be pleased lovingly to view and to crow with success the fatherly efforts which the supreme pontiff, the vicar on earth of your Divine Son, constantly employees to call the nations to unity and faith and to hold them united to the One Sole Centre of Saving Faith. Cause us also to persevere in filial obedience to the Holy Father and work with Him in His Salutary purposes. Enlighten the rulers of Our country that they may co-operate in the aforesaid salutary purposes. Strengthen and maintain concord in our family, peace in our souls and Christian Charity in the World. Amen.
