The St. Joseph’s zone comprises about seventy
families. The core group members (animators) recently
organised a mass in the first week
of Easter. It was celebrated by our priest-in-charge,
Fr. Benji.
Some members took the initiative to hold a weekly
bible study with Fr. Benji. This was done with
an aim to get a better understanding of the scriptures.
It has truly deepened the lives of those who have participated
in the programme.
We also wanted to raise community spirit amongst
the youth of our zone. So, the animators brought
all the eleventh and twelfth standard students together
to wish them luck on the eve of their exams. A special
card was given to each one of them and an assurance
of our prayers for their success. Every one of them
was very grateful and truly touched by this gesture.
The core group decided to wish one of the house
bound members on her birthday, which happened
to coincide with Easter Sunday. It really instilled
a deeper sense of togetherness and belonging.
Currently, we are brainstorming on different activities
that will help to bring the community together in order
to experience God’s love in and through each other.
Suggestions are most welcome. Any takers?
