The Maria Goretti Zone is one of the many zones of St
Peter’s Parish. Also known as the Somnath Lane
Zone, it is the only zone that has its whole core group
made up of youth. Therefore, with our zone filled with
so many youth, it is very lively and energetic.
We have won quite a number of prizes in various Parish
events and celebrations. At the Parish feast, SPARKLES,
which was held a few months ago, we were awarded with
a prize for the Zone with the maximum number of entries.
We had contenders for every competition, and in spite
of not winning every where, we had the satisfaction
of participation. Our mascot and cheerleaders added
to the liveliness of the event. We were the KNIGHTS
at Sparkles and the BLACK SEA PIRATES at Splash.
In addition to the Parish events, the zone has organized
many tournaments within the zone, like football, cricket,
volleyball, etc. The senior citizens, children and parents
have their fun too, with get-togethers organized for
them.

At Christmas time,
the children of the zone have a card competition and
the cards are then distributed to the families of the
zone; they also go carol singing. Apart from the card
making competition, making of cribs and stars is another
way of whole-hearted co-operation of the zone. Thus
making every segment of the zone involved in some way
or the other.
